Residential and Commercial Electricity Goes Solar
Contractor Installed
20-21 REC students installed the rest. Circuts had to be identified, cut, and reistalled to run off the solar system. The classroom, lab, and storage room have only used 30 kw of electricity from the grid since the installation.

Intro to Conservation Law students took a field trip to visit the site where the first game wardens were killed in the line of duty in the State of Maine; this happened in Washington County. The bodies were laid out on the big rock with the marker while waiting to be collected. Students also visited the gravesite of one of those wardens along with the grave of a poacher. The bullets on the poacher's grave are put there by aspiring hunters for good luck. The students also visited Third Machias Lake Heath and had an opportunity to pick wild cranberries.

Washington County Recovery Resources
There are many supports and resources available here in Washington County, Maine, to help people, families, neighbors, and communities with substance use disorder. Several years ago, Abby Frutchey, CCC's Substance Use Response Coordinator, with help from Healthy Acadia staff, created a spreadsheet of these resources accessible to all on Google Sheets. We are excited to announce that this resource guide has migrated to The Connection Initiative (TCI) website, a county-wide program hosted and coordinated by the CCC that connects community members to needed resources, including those for substance use and recovery.
Recovery resources are now listed on virtual cards you can search by town or category. When you visit the Recovery Resource Guide page, Abby's virtual self will explain how to search for resources using these filters. Please visit this page and let us know if we are missing any recovery resources in Washington County, or if you see any resources that need updating. You can visit the TCI Washington County Recovery Resource guide using
