EMCC Nursing Program at WCCC

Registered Nurse

From Kayli Doten - Nursing Administrator at WCCC: Pending approval from the State Board of Nursing, we will begin our own program

next Fall. We are currently working to complete the requirements from the Maine State Board of Nursing, and National Accreditation requirements from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. Once we have approval from the State Board of Nursing, we can begin taking applications for next Fall. I expect this will occur between February and March. Anyone with any questions about the program can feel free to send me or Lynn an email! Kayli Doten and Darryllyn Weaver are the current lead faculty instructors for the program.

Simulator Open House - December 12th

There is an exciting event happening in our nursing department. On December 12th, the department is hosting a new simulation open house from 11am to 3pm.

We have recently completed the remodel of our department and finished installing some state-of-the-art simulation mannequins and equipment in our new lab. The open house is a chance for faculty, students, staff, and community members to check out the new space and see some demonstrations.

We will have different simulation scenarios running throughout the day so people can observe and get a feel for how the mannequins respond just like real patients would.

Mark your calendars for December 12th from 11am to 3pm. It should be a fun, informative event. Hope to see you there!
